My version of a Neverwinter Nights I Drow Archer. Oil & Watercolor. 9′ x 12′.
It’s also on Mannerism. See the stylized pose & the elongated neck? Yep, that’s Mannerism alright.
Here’s Mannerism, courtesy of Wikipedia
The Cerulean Blue & Yellow thing? My bestfriend suggest the colors. Aaaaand because of that she became less intimidating. LOL. My favourite part here is her gauntlet. Very Mannerism! Oh, I also like the Scarlet quiver. The color’s so sexy. LMAO.
During the last week of April, I was awakened from my slumber by my phone. It’s a text message but my phone’s ringing like fuck because I turned my favourite song (Parabola – Tool) into my message alert tone. I checked the message & it’s from Jeanne, my bestfriend. She’s asking me to paint Akroma’s Vengeance, a trading card that I gave her during our Third Year at UST High School.
I agreed, what’s new? =))
But I fucked up big time on my first try. At first it looked like this:
Then it turned into shit…
So I asked my bestfriend if I could just paint another image of Akroma, Angel of Wrath. She agreed! I searched for a new photo. Things turned out better than expected. Here are some images of the unfinished painting:
Now here’s the painting. It took me a week-and-a-half to finish this stuff.
It’s okay I guess… 🙂
I was looking on my Facebook News Feed last May, just scrolling, checking posts & whatnot, when I stumbled upon a photo album. It contains just four photos but one of them caught my attention…
Here it is:
This is Lauren. A mother of one & a friend of mine (sort of). She was my former guildmate at RF-PoA, an international private server of RF Online. I’ve drawn her face a couples of times in the past. Those turned out to be rejects. I wasn’t proficient at portrait sketching/painting during that time but with a lot of practice I was able to hone my skills & now… I don’t know (LOL).
So yeah, I stumbled upon this photo of hers & quickly I asked her if I can grab this photo so I could paint it on my pad. She agreed. Here’s a few photos of the painting during its early stages:
After a week I was able to finish the painting. Here it is:
Not bad, ain’t it? 🙂
It was Mid-March. I was running low on art supplies so I decided to go to Deovir, SM North Edsa to purchase shit that I need. Then I stumbled upon this pile of Prang watercolors.I really don’t need watercolors during that time but meh, what the heck. So I grabbed a watercolor pad and one set of watercolors and put them in my bag along with the other things I grabbed earlier. I purchased all of ’em and went home.
By the time I layed them on my workplace I was like ‘What am I going to do with these shit?’ LOL. Instead of storing them I popped them out of their covers and started working with them. I looked up a photo of Katie White (The Ting Tings) and made a watercolor version out of it. The result? Mediocre.
The next day I feel like using my watercolor kit again. I don’t know why but I feel like it. Haha. I scanned my Olivia Wilde gallery on our Desktop and picked a beautiful photo of her. Two weeks of painting resulted into this:
The next day after I finished my Olivia Wilde rendition I thought to myself ‘Damn I’ve been making a lotta portraits of women. Time for some male portraits!’, so I decided to make this:
A bit eccentric, but hey it’s a portrait of a male! Haha.
So basically that’s pretty much it. Stay tuned for more of my watercolor art! 🙂
